Ed Chevy is a Deaf professional you don’t want to miss!

Ed Chevy has lived in Hawaii for more than 40 years, dedicating much of his life as an entertainer, musician, educator, and advocate who celebrates the wonder and versatility of Deaf identity.

He is the founder of Man From A.S.L., the Hawaii Sign Language Festival, and the Listen to Silence showcase. He is also the co-founder, bassist, and composer of the Deaf rock band Beethoven’s Nightmare.

Currently, Ed works at the Hawaii School for the Deaf and the Blind, where he serves as a motivator and role model for young Deaf students.

Ed has received high honors from the Mayor of Honolulu and recognition from the State of Hawaii for his powerful message and lifelong work embodied in the statement: “I AM DEAF, NOT A BROKEN TOY”.
